This is somewhat of a different post than normal, instead of showing you the fresh manicure I’m showing a beat up gross looking one.
I was contacted from Beyond Polish to review some of their new CND Vinylux polishes and I was a little skeptical about CND’s claim to weekly polish wear with this lacquer but I decided to give it a try.
Now, for a review- this stuff is amazeballs. Seriously I don’t even know what differs in the formula compared to normal polish but this is two full weeks of wear, and let me tell you, I’m not easy on my nails. I work retail so I’m constantly opening thick cardboard boxes, stocking, and slamming them on register keys.
The polish dries so quick, then you add their top coat to it and just like that you’re ready to go. The top coat rivals Seche Vite in both thickness and quick dry, but didn’t peel off in sheets.
Have you used Vinylux? What do you think about it?
I was browsing my local Rite Aid when I found these awesome looking nail tattoos from Fing’rs.
Maps of New York City?? I had to have them.
These are tough to work with, but not impossible. I had originally thought they would be much like water decals, but they are more like temporary tattoos that you used as a kid- which means you have to work quick and not jerk or you’ll rip them.
They are semi-transparent (though they have an odd yellowish tint to them, so it will make your background color a little grungy), which is really cool, so I laid down a coat of OPI’s French Quarter for your Thoughts. Once they were on I stamped my thumb with my new MoYou plate.
What do you think? Have you picked up this kit?
I started out with two coats of OPI Funky Donkey, sponged on China Glaze Graffiti Glitter and a small bit of Orly Monster Mash.
Then I used some temporary tattoos I picked up at Meijer for the ring finger accent and then I added “ha ha” with a striping brush.

What do you think?
Listeners, I like Welcome to Night Vale.
So much, that I had to commemorate it with some nail art. I started out with Sparitual Heliotrope, tipped it with OPI Black Onyx and then went to work.
And best of all? I used China Glaze Goulish Glow and made it all glow in the dark!! (I wish I could have gotten a better pic of it!)
What do you think? Do you listen to Nigh Vale?
This is a cross post from my new blog Nail Art Anonymous!
It’s a place for us to upload our Nail Fails and have a good laugh, instead of being picked at and made fun of from some of the meaner anonymous blogs.
I saw a bag of cheapo tattoos in the sale bin at Walmart for $0.56 (I know, right??!) so I figured I could try and finagle them into nail art…
In theory it would work just like normal nail tattoos, but in action they are far stickier than the ones you would use on your nails, and I’m sure if I kept practicing I could get them to work, but the minute you lay them down they are stuck. Any type of movement (like curling the tattoo around your nail) will cause it to crack and break and it’s impossible to lift it off the paper and lay it down that way.
Ah well, I tried, right? ^_^
Oh my word, I had so much fun making this manicure!!
I haven’t done a splatter mani in so long (in fact, I think it has been about two years!), I really need to do more of these, they are quick, fun and incredibly easy.
I used China Glaze Hanging in the Balance for this, as the base, and with a coffee stir I blew on Sally Hansen Grass Slipper, CIRCUS by Andrea’s Choice in Somersault, and Nicole by OPI Tink’s in the Pink.
Then I realized it had a totally 80’s vibe so I stamped a rad checker board on it!
What do you think, have you tried this manicure before?
I recently moved from Michigan to Maryland and had a bit of melancholy hit me so to pick myself back up I decided to give myself a new manicure.
Picking through my collection is a bit of work, and sometimes I get stumped as to what I should wear. Then I had a bit of an ah-ha! moment when I remembered I had a bottle of OPI’s Skinny Dipping in Lake Michigan! Not only is the color/shimmer SO beautiful but the name never fails to make me giggle. For those who don’t know, Lake Michigan is frigid for most of the year- okay, not frigid, but it only gets up to around 70 degrees- and I would advise against skinny dipping in it!
This is one of the few nude polishes that I actually love, and wear on the regular. It is a nude, but still has that neat looking shimmer to spruce things up.
If you can find this grab it up and hoard it!
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I have a new sponsor!
I hope you’ll help me welcome Beauty Panic and make them feel comfortable. ^__^
I decided to do nail art based off of the Beauty Panic logo.
I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the base white, and Nubar Black Polka Dots.
Now on to Beauty Panic!
Those of us hardcore nail polish
hoarders collectors are all familiar with the Trans Design Inc company, now I don’t know about you but I have had all kinds trouble with this site. I get error messages popping up constantly, and frankly don’t feel comfortable giving them money.
New onto the scene is Beauty Panic, it’s just like Trans Design Inc, but better. The site is easy to use, and laid out well. Best of all? It’s almost (and in some cases, it is) as cheap as I can get with my professional discount. Trans Design also loses my vote because they don’t sell OPI any longer, but guess who does?? That’s right! Beauty Panic!
Now onto my review of the products they sent.
(I’m putting it under a cut because it’s rather long already)
Today I have another indie brand- my good friend Minnie’s Funky Nails! This is a polish from Athens’ Couture Collection, and I am so happy with it. As soon as I saw it I just fell in love, it reminds me of Sailor Jupiter so much!
I had to pair it with OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook, a small smattering of China Glaze Make a Spectacle and finally because I can’t say no to bling, a Swarovski crystal on each nail.
This was a dream to work with. I didn’t have to do any fishing or pushing or dabbing, as I usually do with nail polishes like this.

Summer is here, which means it’s time to bring out the gaudy eye-catching manicures!
(Oh, who am I kidding, I wear these year ‘round!)
For this manicure I used A Roll in the Hague, and on my ring finger I used water decals that I got from yayajulia and sealed with OPI Gel color top coat (which works amazingly well, I might add). I then added Swarovski crystals with a dab of nail glue and they are holding up really well, I’ve gotten a full weeks wear with no chipping/loose crystals.
What are you rocking this summer??
